Travel To San Diego – Coronado Island

If you ask anyone in California where the best beaches are, they’ll tell you they’re at Coronado Island in San Diego. Travel to San Diego and find out for yourself why they feel that statement is so true. Linked to the downtown area of San Diego, connected by the Island Bay Bridge is Coronado Island. It’s also the home to the SEAL’s training center as well as the Naval Air Station Coronado, a military powerhouse.

The Coronado Beach is located here as well, along the Travel Channel. Just north of the beach, you will find the Great Weekend Getaway Beach. No matter when you go, even in the summer months, Coronado Beach is never crowded. You and your family will have plenty of room to enjoy the best beaches that California has to offer.

Don’t want to drive over to the island. then take a ferry to The Ferry Landing. The Ferry Landing is also a great addition to what the island has to offer. The marketplace has over thirty shops, restaurants and art galleries. Walk around and take in the view or just take visit to the Tidelands Park. There are some great places to walk or take a bike ride with an awesome view of San Diego’s skyline. If you find yourself there on a Tuesday, you can stop by the farmer’s market.

If you want to see some beautiful landmarks, Coronado is home to the famous Hotel Del Coronado. A Victorian style seaside hotel that was built in 1888. The hotel has been hosted by some famous people like Marilyn Monroe and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. You will receive some of the best service in California hen you’re at the Coronado. One of the best restaurants is also located in the hotel. This world class hotel is visited by thousands each year because it’s that good.

If you’re one of the many people who love to take a guided tour of the area, you can do so at Glorietta Bay Inn. There are tours several times a week that will show everything that the area has to offer. If you rather not drive, you can let someone else do so by taking a pedicab tour.

If you want to get to the Island, you take the Coronado Bay Bridge off of I-5. You can also catch a ferry in San Diego that runs hourly from 9am-10pm. From there it’s only a little over a mile to the Hotel Del Coronado.

Travel To San Diego – Belmont Park

If you’re looking for some excitement when you travel to San Diego, Why not work your way over to Belmont Park. Chaos is some what like a Ferris wheel with a new twist to it. It creates a three dimensional rocking and rolling that no to rides on it will be the same.

For the people who are arcade enthusiasts, they have family arcade and game lords. This will give you the ultimate gaming experience, keeping you more than occupied for hours. Other rides in the park will make you visit memorable with rides like Vertical Plunge, Krazy Kars as well as the infamous “Plunge”. The plunge is the largest indoor heated pool in San Diego. You can spend hour in the pool swimming, diving and enjoying yourself to no end.

The Crazy Submarine along with the Trampoline will give you sensations that you never felt before. Get some rock climbing in at the Rock Wall, it will give you an unique challenge. See if you got what it takes to get to the top.

If you need to take a break from all the rides, Belmont Park always has something going on. Sine the city is a tourist attraction, Belmont park has spectacular entertainment that you can enjoy.

Closed Monday – Thursday, Belmont Park is open Friday and Saturday 11 AM – 10 PM and Sunday 11 AM – 8 PM. Although the park is closed on major holidays, you can visit on the weekends and enjoy the best in entertainment.

After you’re done on the rides stroll around and do some shopping or catch a bite to eat. Belmont Park in San Diego has it all.

Travel To San Diego – Old Town

Need to get in touch with a little history? well, travel to San Diego and take a trip back in time to where Old Town started. In 1769, the first Spanish settlement was created in San Diego. A fort and a mission was established to start was was become the great city of San Diego.

Old Ton Park serves as a way to reconnect with the past. Back to the early Americans and early Mexican era of 1821-1872. Old Town has many things to show you how things were back in the days with a blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and several other historic building to take a look at, including the first newspaper office in San Diego. The museum, which is close by, has many artifacts that will reflect on the life that was once Old Town.

You can take a walk around the five adobes of the main complex. there are museums, shops, and several different restaurants. The garden courtyard and the La Casa mansion will help bring back the taste of Old Town.

Make it a point when visiting Old Town Park, to go by the Robinson-Ros House visitor Center. In there you will find a model of how the town was back in 1872. The model was design and built by Joseph Toigo. The building has been reconstructed now and is beautiful to look at.

The Old Town Park also offers exhibits of the way things used to be, programs, and even guided tours. If you like, you can get a personal tour of the park, a guide will explain everything to you as he takes you around the park. If you are looking to just have a picnic in the park with your family, they also have picnic areas or you can just get something from the many vendors the are there. Restrooms are clean and open.

Old Town Park is easy to find and get to, located on San Diego Ave and Twiggs Street. You can learn and experience a lot of the history of San Diego and get a taste of the past. So why not take a walk back in time and see for yourself.
